Everest base camp trek HIGHLIGHTS

Kathmandu: 2 nights

DAY 1 1
Kathmandu

Arrival

  • Arrive at Kathmandu airport, private transfer to your guesthouse.
  • Explore Kathmandu’s highlights; Swayambhunath Temple, Boudanath Stupa, and Thamel.
  • Traditional Nepalese dinner.

DAY 2 2
Kathmandu

Welcome to the Himilayas

  • Head out to the trail visiting nearby sites of Durbar Square and the Monkey Temple.
  • Nepalese street food tour for lunch.

Lukla: 2 nights

DAY 3 3
Lukla

Scenic flight

  • Scenic flight to Lukla. Check into your tea house and then head out to this vibrant town for lunch before a trek to Phakding which takes off from the edge of the village and descends into the alpine forests and through many towns of Tibetan influence and Buddhist character.

Namche Bazaar: 2 nights

DAY 4 4
Namche Bazaar

Trek up to Namche

  • A  trek to reach an altitude of 3,445 meters, arriving at one of the most vibrant and remote high-altitude towns on earth: Namche Bazaar. The trail follows the river and passes through the alpine forests and crosses several villages and farming communities that add a rural element.

DAY 5 5
Namche Bazaar

Cultural tours

  • Hike up to the Sherpa museum for a guided cultural tour covering mountaineering history and new sustainability practices.
  • Continue to hilltop high for a breathtaking view of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, three of the world’s most iconic summits.
  • Return to town for a leisurely afternoon.

Tyangboche: 2 nights

DAY 6 6
Tyangboche

Monastery

  • After breakfast head down the valley with incredible photo opportunities along the way.
  • Riverside lunch before the long ascent to Tyangboche.
  • Visit a Buddhist holy site and experience the rituals.

Dingboche: 2 nights

DAY 7 7
Dingboche

Reaching altitudes

  • After breakfast, descend into enchanting Rhododendron forest towards the remote town of Pengboche for lunch.
  • Continue along the trail to the south face of Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest summit.
  • Arrive in Dingboche and settle in for dinner.

DAY 8 8
Dingboche

Leisure day

  • Relax in the vicinity of the guesthouse and surrounding tea houses/coffee shops or take an optional walk up to the pass to enjoy the views.

Lobuche summit: 1 night

DAY 9 9
Lobuche summit

Thukla pass

  • Trek towards the infamous Thukla pass, where tributes are made to fallen climbers of surrounding mountains.
  • Witness Pumori, an impressive 7000-meter mountain.
  • Arrive at remote accommodation where there are no more tea houses.

Gorak Shep

DAY 10 10
Gorak Shep

Everest base camp

  • Take off towards Everest base camp, what you came for.
  • Stop at the last set of tea houses then pass the historic Khumbu Glacier.
  • Optional sunset climb to Kala Patthur before continuing to Gorak Shep to enjoy the achievement and surroundings.

DAY 11 11
Gorak Shep

Chopper to Kathmandu

  • Commence the 5-day hike back or take a chartered helicopter back to Kathmandu. Marvel at the many peaks from above and look back at your achievements for this unforgettable trek.
